At the Acies we renew our fealty to Our Lady, Queen of the Legion and we ask for strength and blessing for another year's battle against the forces of evil.
We must work in union with and in dependence on Mary its queen and the Acies is a solemn expression of that union and dependence. This is based on Frank Duff's profound insight into the mystery of the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, and of the place of Mary, the Mother of Jesus in this mystery.
At the Acies we make a commitment to the spirit of the Legion - not just to the letter of the system. .The object of the Legion is the glory of God through the holiness of its members. At the Acies it is time to assess ourselves, to ask ourselves if we have made any progress in sanctity. The Legion of Mary is a way of life: sanctity has to show itself in all aspects of our life, not just in the few hours we spend at the meeting and in doing the active work, but also in our family life, at work and in our social life.
