About Recruitment Drives Our deep love for Mary is reflected in our duty to her. If we have genuine regard for our neighbour as Jesus commanded us to do, we will want others to experience the same joy and happiness that working in the Legion brings to each and every member.

Formal recruitment drives may be carried out at churches either before or after Mass. The images shown are from a recruitment drive at Saint Mary's Carhedral Sydney for the Cathedral Praesidium.  A Legion altar is set up near the doorway of the church manned by active members giving out leaflets and talking to people about the Legion.  It is a condition of active membership to be a practising Catholic, so obviously we would have the highest number of potential eligible members here.

In the case of the recruitment drive at Saint Mary's for the Cathedral Praesidium, over 1000 flock to each Mass, so members from The Broadway Praesidium also helped out. We had an active member on every door ready to talk to the Mass-goers about the Legion.

All new membership is a result of personal interaction, which can't be achieved by simply giving out pamphlets; It is important for members during recruitment drives to talk with people. This allows the Holy Spirit to work through us to share the wonderful story of the Legion.
